THE FILLING STATION'S CAR SHOW and COLLECTOR CAR APPRECIATION DAY
Over 100 Classics were at this year's event, held in conjunction with the Collector Car Appreciation Day. 

It also offered Classic car owners in Lebanon, OR a look at something never before seen, Tom Dietrich's 1939 Chevy truck.

THE 75 YEAR OLD 4X4 TRUCK

According to the owner, it took over 25 years of work for the truck to reach its current condition. Considering the size of the truck, the 455 Oldsmobile V8 tucked under the tilt front end does not look out of place. I almost hate to say "It's Not Your Father's Oldsmobile" again, but...

a closer look reveals a highly modified version of the Olds power-plant mated to the front wheel drive out of an Oldsmobile Toronado. 

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE

A few more steps revealed another 455, connected to a second Toronado drivetrain to complete the 4X4 configuration, twin fuel cells, two nitrous-oxide tanks and more.

Parked next to Tom's monster 910 CI truck is his mother Mary Corrington's fully restored, bone stock 1939 Chevy Pick-Up. Unlike Tom's 25 year restoration, Corrington made sure her pure stock 6-cylinder was restored in only five years thanks to The Filling Station owner Steve Kassis.

Even more amazing is mother, son and both trucks recently completed a 3,200 mile power tour along the famous Route 66, before stopping to enjoy places like the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.
