We Are Only Caretakers for a Certain Period of Time

BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN YOUR COLLECTION, MEMORIES and STORIES SHOULD "JUST DISAPPEAR"

John Van Buiten, a WWII veteran and retired contractor, is now 93. He spent his glory days assembling, restoring and enjoying his collection of Classic cars and assorted automobilia. But after the recent passing of his Wife, he moved into an assisted care facility. The house and his collection became places he only visited.

John has come to a point in time where the most sensible thing is also the most difficult thing for him to do - selling off his collection piece by piece. Van Buiten hopes to sell a large chunk of the collection along with the house so he can return to visit his treasures.  He and his children have already sold some of the items. The collection, as a whole and in John's words, will likely disappear. It is the fate of almost every Classic car owner, but there is something that John said in his closing remarks, we find disturbing, "I had fun doing this...it's all gonna disappear".

THAT SHOULD NOT BE THE ULTIMATE FATE OF JOHN'S COLLECTION...
NOR YOURS

"Every day when the work is behind you
and the shops and the stores put the lock on the door,
just get away where your worries won't find you.
If you like, well, I'll tell you more."
Petula Clark
I KNOW A PLACE

Where John's collection will never be broken up even after the objects have been sold. Where the photos, stories and memories will be available to him every day. It will be organized and protected as a part of his automotive history.

SO JOHN, PLEASE ACCEPT OUR PERSONAL INVITATION

To become a member of Garagistry where you can record the details of your collection, your stories, memories and photos.
