A NOSTALGIC LOOK BACK IN TIME

Remember when....

  • Gas cost less than $0.26 per gallon...
  • You received free gifts with a fill-up, such as steak knives, glassware, 5 lbs sugar, Blue or Green Stamps, or even a tiger's tail to hang from your gas tank...
  • Your tires were checked for proper air pressure, your windshield was cleaned and your oil was checked by someone other than yourself...
  • A station attendant would stop what they were doing in the repair bays to pump your gas and service your car for you - unless you still live in New Jersey today...
  • You received a cash discount when you pumped your own gas...
Unfortunately, for most of us those days are long gone.  But thanks to the preservation work of others, we have solid photographic evidence that such events and activities were real and very normal.

Click here for a nostalgic look back in time when refueling our vehicles was an enjoyable experience.

As we were once told "Happy Motoring..."
